Refund and Returns Policy

At Optics Direct, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase. If you are not completely satisfied with your order, we offer a flexible return policy for your convenience.

1. Return Period

You may return any item within 30 days of the delivery date. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition that you received it.

2. Restocking Fee

A 25% restocking fee may be applied to returned items. Optics Direct reserves the right to impose the restocking fee or refuse a refund/exchange on any sale for items that show any indication of use, or which are returned without all product or packaging information. This fee is deducted from the refund amount and is applicable if:

  • The item is a special order or customized item.
  • The item is returned without the original packaging.
  • The item shows signs of use or damage.

3. How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact our Customer Service team using this form or call ‪(480) 664-1161 within 30 days of receiving your order.
  2. Provide your order number, details of the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
  3. Our team will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and instructions for shipping the item back to us.

4. Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error on our part (e.g., wrong item sent, defective product). Returns must be securely packaged in an external box. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and insuring the return for its full retail value, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipment.

5. Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you via email. If the return is approved, a refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7-10 business days, minus any applicable restocking fees.

6. Rifle Scope Return Policy

Rifle scopes can be returned within 30 days if they have not been mounted (mounting includes placing the scope in rings or attaching it to a weapon). Once mounted, scopes are considered used and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund. Please ensure the scope meets your needs before mounting.

If a defect is suspected after mounting or after the 30-day period, you are responsible for returning the scope to the manufacturer for warranty service.

7. Non-Returnable Items

Certain items are non-returnable, including but not limited to:

  • Night Vision products
  • Thermal scopes and optics

8. Exchanges

If you received a defective or damaged item, we will exchange it for the same item at no additional cost. Please use our contact form or call ‪(480) 664-1161 to arrange an exchange.

9. Canceled Orders

Customers can cancel an order at any time. If an order is canceled before it ships, there is no cost. However, if canceled after shipping, customers will be responsible for the actual shipping cost incurred by us, even if the item was part of a free shipping promotion. Additionally, the customer will be responsible for any fees charged by the carrier to recall the shipment, as well as the cost to ship the package back to our facility.
